About Us

Brielle Avery Barber

"Our mission is to support families who have been impacted by pediatric cancer in honor of our angel, Brielle."

At the very young age of 2, Brielle was diagnosed with an Anaplastic Astrocytoma, which is an aggressive form of brain cancer.  Brielle endured many surgeries, multiple rounds of both IV and oral chemotherapy, 2 rounds of radiation along with countless needle pricks and hospital visits. Her original tumor was found on the top of her spine but by the time she was 4, she had multiple tumors growing in her brain. Despite being told that she would not make it to live to meet her baby sister, in true Brielle fashion, she proved everyone wrong and lived not only to meet her sister but for another year after that. Brielle passed away on July 11, 2016. She was just 6 years old. Throughout her journey, she was only concerned about one thing…making sure that everyone around her was “okay”. To honor her we will be helping to make sure that all families are “okay” as they are navigating this heartbreaking and most challenging road. I know that I never would have survived without a tribe of amazing people and the many foundations that supported me throughout Brielle’s journey. The last thing that Brielle said to me was “I’m okay if you’re okay Mommy” and that is the driving motto behind Brielle’s Butterflies.
